Maine Veterans Memorial Bridge Featured in Civil Engineering Magazine
ASCE’s Civil Engineering magazine recently published a story about the new Veterans Memorial Bridge in Portland, ME. The $65-million bridge was a design/build project awarded to contractors, Reed & Reed. T.Y. Lin International (TYLI) served as the lead design engineering firm for the team.
By proposing a new alignment to the Veterans Memorial Bridge, the Reed & Reed/TYLI team was able to earn the top technical score at the lowest bid price. TYLI was responsible for bridge and roadway design, traffic analysis, utility coordination, right-of-way mapping and negotiation/acquisition, and maintenance of traffic design.
