AIDS Memorial
TYLin provided structural engineering services for a new memorial in remembrance of New Yorkers who have died from AIDS.
Located in the West Village at St. Vincent’s Hospital Park, this triangular canopy aspires to increase awareness and understanding of HIV/AIDS and serve as a gateway for further learning through public programming.
TYLin provided services for the 18-foot-tall exposed steel canopy, reviewing basis of design documents for concerns such as the variable loads (e.g. wind, snow, ice) that might be imposed on the structure’s primary steel plate girder elements.
