UVA Foundation Old Ivy Office Building
TYLin provided structural engineering services for a new building that provides offices for University of Virginia employees who are unaffiliated with a specific academic department.
This three-story H-shaped building provides Class A office space for departments including university communications. The building also features sub-grade parking. Combining the implementation of current trends in office design and construction, it meets the needs of tenants and provides residual value to the University of Virginia.
The building superstructure consists of steel columns, beams, and concrete on metal deck. The lateral system is steel braced frames located along the building perimeter. The Old Ivy Office Building is LEED Gold certified.
