Piaule Catskills Retreat
TYLin provided structural engineering services for this new landscape hotel in the Catskills.
The retreat’s main building is a 3,200-square-foot wood-framed structure with steel framing to support longer spaces. Concealed within the hillside below, a 3,000-square-foot spa features saunas, pools, and a green roof.
The complex’s two dozen modular cabins are each equipped with outdoor decks and operable glazing. The wood structures were manufactured offsite and craned into place to minimize ecological disturbances.
