Sag Harbor Beach House
TYLin provided structural engineering design services for a modern residence on the Long Island coastline.
This summer residence captures and frames spectacular views of Noyack Bay. Both north and south facades are glass with louvered aluminum screens for shade and privacy. The north facade features a balcony.
The two-story structure has a concrete slab foundation and steel framing above grade. It features significant cantilevers at the second floor and has been designed to withstand hurricane-force winds. In addition to the main five-bedroom residence, this project constructed a connected pool house and detached guest house. The project’s sustainable features include geothermal heating, high-performance glazing, and landscape design using native plantings.
